ponder

(v) - To ponder is to spend time thinking carefully and seriously about a problem, a difficult question, or something that has happened.

Synonyms: think about, think over, wonder about, consider
Antonyms: forget, ignore
Etymology: 1330 L. ponderare meaning "to weigh" (which is also where we get the word pound)
Morphology: ponderous - adj

Gabby says... What I ponder about are why do we need tornado's,snakes, other storms and bee's? I always contemplate about that.

I am a big fan of vocabulary! Why should words be dull when they can be dazzling? It is my goal for your kids to learn at least 180 impressive words this year, not just so that they will recognize and understand them, but so that they will use them. When they hear, read or say one of the following words, you should expect to hear a little cheer--go ahead, test them out if you dare!
