vary

(v) - If two (or more) things of the same type vary, they are all different from each other.
  • Synonyms: differ, change, disagree, range
  • Antonyms: remain, stay, equal
  • Etymology: Mid 14th-Century Latin, from varius meaning "different, spotted"
  • Morphology: variable - adj, n; variation - n; varied - v, adj
  • Example: Becuase we all come from a different heritage, our holiday traditions will vary from house to house.
