Etymology: Old English, date unknown, from gear which is related to year, which comes from the Greek word hora meaning "year, season"
Example: I'll bet they didn't have winter vacation in the days of yore!

Yes, they did have string instruments in the days of yore, and new players probably sounded much like our fantastic orchestra students did at yesterday's concert!

Luke Says,I think they celebrated Cristmas like we do today by putting a tree up but did not wrap the presents.

I am a big fan of vocabulary! Why should words be dull when they can be dazzling? It is my goal for your kids to learn at least 180 impressive words this year, not just so that they will recognize and understand them, but so that they will use them.
